"THE HALLOWEEN HORROR PICTURE SHOW"

10/06/03 - ENIGMA FILMS and METROPOL PRODUCTIONS have joined forces to bring you the coolest Halloween happening this side of Transylvania. "The Halloween Horror Picture Show" will be held on Friday October 31st 2003 for one night only at the Pinellas Expo Center. There will be screenings of some of the scariest and most frightening horror shorts and a main event feature you will ever see. Cast members from some of the films will be there to sign autographs and take pictures.

Necro Nancy from the upcoming "Nightmare Collection" DVD will be on hand as our Hostess and she will introduce the films slated for the show which will include several selections from the upcoming DVD release.

Contests, Prizes, Film related Merchandise, food and drinks will be on hand as well. The scariest costume of the night will win a "Halloween Horror Picture Show" prize pack and so much more will be in store for everyone who comes out to be a part of this one time event.

The "Picture Show" is going to be held in conjunction with the State's biggest Independent Haunted House and we will have discounted tickets that will be good for both attractions. A portion of the proceeds goes to help the Boys and Girls Club so come out and show your support and give Necro Nancy and the rest of us a chance to put a real scare in to you this Halloween Night.

Check out our web site for more details as even more films will be added to the slate as we approach this terrifying event that will make Halloween your favorite Holiday of the year.

"Saints and Sinners IV" Film Festival open for submissions

SAINT PETERSBURG, FL - 9/25/03 - The event will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2003 and will be returning to the State Theatre in downtown Saint Petersburg, FL. 'SS4' will showcase independent feature-length and short films in the categories of "Non-Horror Comedy and Drama" (Saints) and "Horror and Thriller" (Sinners). The festival, which began as a showcase for Florida filmmakers is now open to filmmakers worldwide and will be accepting submissions for all categories and types of films. The Submission deadline is October 20, 2003 and selections will be announced on Halloween. Special awards will be presented in many categories, including a new "Florida Film" category. The purpose of the festival is to gain greater exposure for the local independent filmmaking scene and generate interest in the business of filmmaking in Florida.

If you've got a film that you want to get some great exposure for or know someone who does, contact us soon as the submission deadline is right around the corner. Also make sure you come out to the Festival as we are putting together not only a solid film festival but a great networking experience as many filmmakers have been able to cast and crew various film projects with people they met at the previous three Festivals.

Many outstanding films have already been submitted and this Festival is shaping up to be the best one yet. We have been contacted by several distribution companies who are interested in getting a winners list from us upon the conclusion of the Festival so we are succeeding in getting plenty of attention for the filmmakers who enter and attend the Festival.

"Saints and Sinners IV" will include exciting changes based on feedback provided by attendees and filmmakers at past festivals. Sound-dampening curtains will be added to the festival and other details and surprises will be announced as they are confirmed. The Florida Blue Sheet has re-upped for a second sponsorship outing as well as other local businesses who are a part of the ever growing Florida film community.

Help us spread the word and help promote the Festival as we are doing all we can to help bring attention to the hard working people such as yourselves who deserve a chance to display their works.

Dear MIFF fanatics and friends,
It certainly gives me great pleasure to report a sure record fund-raiser at this year's MIFF. Although all the funds have not been tallied and the Modern Classics Encores are still playing at the Premiere Theaters Oaks Stadium 10, it seems we will have close to a 30% increase in our level of fundraising. It helped that the 497 seat Henegar Center for the Arts was filled to capacity. The festival closed with an awards ceremony at Meg O'Malley's on Saturday night where Florida filmmaker Todd Thompson's "Time & Again" was awarded the Indian River Beverage Corporation's People's Choice Award which was based upon the votes of the audience. The Kelly's Hard Cider Peer Award went to fellow Floridian Andy Lalino's "Filthy".

This award is based upon the votes of the selected filmmakers present. Recording artists "Robin & Eddy" were on hand to present the Independent Spirit Award to brothers Paul & Ted Sullivan for their individual films, "Henry David Thoreau: Role Model" and "Symon: Portrait of an Artist" respectively. (Be sure to watch Paul tomorrow night at 10 PM on the premiere of the HBO Documentary "The Curse of the Bambino").

A round of thanks to the award-winners and to our special guest celebrity, Patrick Gallo (First Time Caller, American Wedding, Thugs), who was introduced throughout the festival celebration by last year's guest celebrity, James Best ( The Dukes of Hazzard). Both of these extraordinary gentlemen exceeded all our expectations in making the MIFF a fantastic success and alot of fun. Here is a sample of some of the articles featuring MIFF:

I received this anonymous link of a nice photographer who took photos at all the events-- http://aademo.imagelinks.com/miff03/

We are thankful for the incredible contributions of all the filmmakers who submitted their films to us and those who came to support their film. I particularly wanted to thank the leaders of our Filmmaking Workshop --Michael Baumgarten, James Best, Alexander Pelet Narbonne, Paul Sullivan, and Ted Sullivan. The Sullivan brothers deserve special thanks for premiering their preview trailer of "First Time Caller" at the VIP party. Shot locally, this film is set to put Melbourne on the comedy classic map and we were honored to show it to deafening applause from the MIFF audience.

As always the ones I need to thank the most are saved to last. Jeff Hall, Bob Lizek, & Pat Martin made this event the best ever through their perseverence and dogged forces of will. These are truly renaissance men who are capable of solving any problem or adversity set before them. The MIFF could not exist without their skills.

And, of course, to our wives who put up with so much so that we can shine. To Ava, Colleen, Angie, & Elizabeth we are grateful most of all.

Best wishes until next year!
Terry

This is a fetish festival where tattoos and body-piercing are considered "conservative". If you're easily offended, this festival may not be for you. But go anyway! Thanks to actor Chris "Leonard" Brooks for getting FILTHY shown at the festival. This was FILTHY's Orlando area debut.

(Congratulations to Andy for another successful show. As stated above, I'm currently having godawful technical problems and the above announcement was unavoidably delayed for which I apologize.--Nolan)
