• RENEGADE FILM FEST III UPDATE RENEGADE FILMS INC. - The 3rd. 'SAINTS & SINNERS' FILM FESTIVAL is looking
to be the biggest one yet and is shaping up to be a wonderful, fun-filled day
of Independent films and tremendous networking opportunities for Actors,
Actresses and Filmmakers alike. The lineup of films is our strongest yet
with projects from all over the world on display, but with a very strong
Florida flavor as well.
Special Guests will be on hand such as Award-winning Filmmaker Pete Bauer as
he holds a book signing of his recently published piece entitled "20
QUESTIONS: THE INTERVIEW SERIES". Also on hand will be rising star and
future Scream Queen ROBYN GRIGGS of "ANOTHER WORLD", "ONE LIFE TO LIVE" and
the forth coming "DEAD PLANET". A special appearance by "NECRO NANCY" is
also slatted as she introduces the upcoming "NIGHTMARE COLLECTION" DVD and
displays the Florida premiere of one of its films, "MY SKIN".
Doors will open at 3:30pm and the Festival will kick off at 3:50pm with the
wonderful Romantic Comedy Feature Film, "FOLLOW THE BITCH". This film has
earned high praise during its Festival run on the West Coast and even saw a
significant Theatrical Release before making its way here to SS3. Following
this fabulous premiere will be a plethora of short films from some of the
most talented young filmmakers. Fine films such as "LEMONADE", "SKIPPY
LIGHTFOOT's PERFECT DAY" and the highly anticipated gross-out and
controversial "FILTHY" will make its screen debut.
The main event of the evening will be a Special Audience screening of the
Renegade Films Feature "THE WEB OF DARKNESS" starring TOM SAVINI of "FROM
DUSK TILL DAWN" and "NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD" and Legendary B-Movie Scream
Queen BRINKE STEVENS. The SS3 crowd will be able to view for the first time
anywhere, the rough cut of this Cyber Vampire thriller and be able to
provide feedback to the filmmakers to assist them in the final edit of the
film before it heads off for distribution.
Special Plaque Awards will be given to the winners of the "Saints" Award and
the "Sinners" Award. Other winners will be given prizes and certificates for
various Awards such as the "Audience Award", "Cast" and "Crew Awards" and so
much more.
Tickets are $10 for the entire event. You can purchase them at the door of
the State Theatre in St. Pete or through Ticket Master in the final two
weeks leading up to the show.
98 Rock is the Official Station of SS3 and will be having "SS3 PRIZE PACK"
Giveaways so listen for the SS3 commercial spot and your chance to win. More
details on the event, guests, lineup and everything else you could want are
on the official web site of SS3: http://www.renegadefilms.net/festival.html
You won't want to miss this full day of Independent Film fun and your chance
to meet industry people on both sides of the camera. Come out for a great
time and help us show the media that will be covering the event that the
Florida Film scene is alive and kicking!
Good news, everyone...
"Filthy" is going to premiere at Renegade Films' familiar SAINTS & SINNERS III Film Festival. This will be an "unofficial" premiere, as we have plans to have our own in the near future, but SSIII will feature "Filthy" in its entirety - all 32 minutes of it! We're all very excited.
Here are the details: I don't know exactly what time F will be shown; when I do, I'll pass that info on to you. I do not know how much tickets cost; check the Renegade Films website for info & updates.
In case you haven't heard, FILTHY's own Krista Grotte will be a special guest at S&SIII, promoting Enigma Films' newest horror DVD entitled "The Nightmare Collection". Krista will be in character as the sexy corpse "Necro Nancy" who is the collection's hostess. TNC features a collection of exclusive short horror films that you can't find anywhere else, all on one DVD. Please note that FILTHY is NOT on this DVD (but buy it anyway!). For more about TNC, visit:
http://www.nightmarecollection.com/home.htm
I'd like to thank FILTHY editor Tom Linkiewicz and sound designer/music composer Eddie Sturgeon once again for their brilliant post-production work on the film. The job they have done is simply incredible, amazing, and awe-inspiring. They have worked endless hours to help make FILTHY the best it can be, and I think you will be blown away by the caliber of their skill and expertise.
I would also like to thank Rick Danford, Kerry Hogan, and Porl Denicolo of Renegade Films for once again giving FILTHY massive support at their S&S festivals. They have been particularly great to us, and we are proud that FILTHY will be premiering at their festival. If possible, drop them an e-mail thanking them for their enthusiasm and support (it can be found on their website).
If you've been to Renegade's S&S festivals in the past, they are a lot of fun, featuring some great short films (and some not-so-great). The highlight of the evening will be a special midnight screening of Renegade's own production of the long-awaited "Web of Darkness" featuring Tom Savini and Brinke Stevens. The festival also features actress Robyn Griggs, who is appearing in local filmmaker Brandon Jones' new short suspense film "The Urn", which was filmed in St. Petersburg with some of the FILTHY crew, and author/filmmaker Pete Bauer, who will hold a book signing in promotion of his "20 Questions" film production book.
Please try to make it out to St. Petersburg for the premiere, but if you're not able to go, please know that we will have an "official" premiere in the near future (probably in June or July). Details to come.
