• SAINTS & SINNERS IV dates announced "Saints and Sinners IV" Film Festival Date Confirmed
SAINT PETERSBURG, FL - 7/2/03 - Renegade Films has announced the date for the next installment of the popular "Saints & Sinners Film Festival." The event will be on Saturday, December 6, 2003 and will be returning to the State Theatre in downtown Saint Petersburg, FL. The event will showcase independent feature-length and short films in the categories of "Non-Horror Comedy and Drama" (Saints) and "Horror" (Sinners). The festival, which began as a showcase for Florida filmmakers is open to filmmakers worldwide and will be accepting submissions for all categories and types of films. Submission deadline is October 20, 2003 and selections will be announced on Halloween. Special awards will be presented in many categories, including a new "Florida Film" category. The purpose of the festival is to gain greater exposure for the local independent filmmaking scene and generate interest in the business of filmmaking in Florida.
"Saints and Sinners IV" will include exciting changes based on feedback provided by attendees and filmmakers at past festivals. Sound-dampening curtains will be added to the festival and other details will be announced as they are confirmed. Yo Soy Irini Productions, Inc. returns as a leading sponsor of the event and will be working closely with Renegade Films with the coordination of the festival as well as providing production assistance. The Florida Blue Sheet has re-upped for a second sponsorship outing.

Inspired by the success of the highly-publicized and somewhat controversial Renegade Film Festivals, but wanting to go in different directions, filmmakers Chris Woods and Simon Lynx of ICON Film Studios called a meeting Thursday night to discuss a new film festival, all horror-oriented, to debut around the middle of October, 2003. In attendance at the meeting were Andy Lalino, Eddie Sturgeon, Rick Danford, Chris & Simon of course, and yours truly.
