FLASH FANTASTIC
Adventures in short, short fiction
Back issues and index

2005
Flash Fantastic was officially discontinued September 2, 2005, but no August issue ever came out. Any submitted scripts remain with the last editor of FF, Art Brown, who left FF due to schedule conflicts. Cover images, like those used in 2003 and 2004, were discontinued after 2004 due to time contraints.
I enjoyed publishing Flash Fantastic and regretted seeing it come to an end; it was an interesting experiment. I learned about an art form I didn't even know existed, and hopefully, we introduced the concept to others who can find more flash fiction on the web.
Flash Fantastic was an online publication only and had no paper or magazine-type equivalent. The stories themselves were formatted like a "pulp" interior for enhanced ambience. The issues below will remain archived here permanently. I hope new fans continue to enjoy them. ---Nolan B. Canova

FF issue #13FF issue #1412 issues were completed by October 2004, so the one-year anniversary should've been in November and the commemoration issue at left may seem a little late in that regard (well, OK it is). Since it all started so late in 2003, I tend to think of these first 14 issues as FF's first "year", but the anniversaries will go by calendar years from here on.

I sincerely wish to thank departing editor Patty G. Henderson for doing such a splendid job on this first volume of Flash Fantastic, and best of luck on her developing book projects!

I also wish to welcome new editor-in-chief Art Brown to our little band of misfits and hope he finds this as challenging and rewarding as we all have.

Here's to a wonderful and prosperous 2005!
