It is with a heavy heart and deep regret that I am forced to announce the cancellation of NolanCon 2005. It was on the eve of making a commitment to TV commercials that, due to lack of dealers tables sales, lack of ticket sales, lack of any response whatsoever to the cash award film fest, and general lack of interest or commitment from any potentially paying parties, that on June 27, 2005, co-sponsor Neil McCurry and I decided to cut our losses and cancel the convention altogether.

What we're doing for August 13th, 2005 has finally been ironed out for the most part. We will be having a get-together at the site of where NolanCon was to be held, The Best Western Hotel, 1200 N. Westshore Blvd. in Tampa, FL, but in the Durango Bar & Lounge (Saturday night only, starting around 7:00pm) accessible from the hotel. The film showings will be impractical, the girl wrestlers have already re-booked that weekend, and there is no way to set up any live music. Sorry. This is the WAY scaled-down version of my 50th birthday bash. Whether any out-of-towners want to travel that far for it will be entirely up to them, although, of course, I still hope they can make it.

Again, I'm sorry I'm not coming to you with better news, but the money just isn't there. With any luck, we'll all still be able to see each other August 13th, it just won't be NolanCon....or at least not exactly.

Love to all,
Nolan B. Canova
