The Paranormal in Florida: Where are the UFOs?

Now, let me tell y'all a real story. Now that we've gone through the dry, scientific approach, let's get more up close and personal into one man's odyssey back in 1965.

First, Some words on UFO Central
Unlike much of the Tampa area, Brooksville, located in Hernando County, only 30 miles to our north, is much more reminiscent of northern Florida or southern Georgia. It is a beautiful land of rolling hills with a very thick growth of more northern trees, such as Sweetgum, Loblolly Pine, Magnolia and Dogwood. The mercury commonly plunges to the teens here during the winter. I have driven this beautiful area many times and will tell you this-if a UFO were ever to be spotted in Florida, this is where I'd most expect it (as well as in the Glades or the Big Cypress Swamp).

A Hunting We Will Go
It was a crisp, clear and cool March 3rd day in 1965 outside of Brooksville, Florida. Amongst the wintry backdrop of bare hardwood trees, one John Reeves was snake hunting when he was interrupted by a silver 30-foot spacecraft with four legs. "It was an eerie green with a purple glow and had two windows on the top. Something like a robot moved in the brush about 200-300 feet away. It walked towards the spaceship. He looked at me for about a minute and then he pulled something from his left side. he lifted it to chin level, it flashed." Reeves believes that the "robot" was flashing a picture of him. He also claimed that the robot dropped two pieces of what looked like some type of paper.

Air Force to the Rescue
Yes, 1965 federal tax dollars were spent to investigate Reaves's claims. The boys from USAF found the four craft's landing leg impressions to be man made, and that the two pieces of paper were also earthly in origin. Needless to say, USAF was not impressed.

Let's fly to Moniheya--er, the Moon
Reeves also claimed that he was transported to the Moon, or "Moniheya" as the spacecraft pilots called it, on October 5, 1970. He alleged that the aliens gave him a vial filled with a dirt-like substance that would cure cancer. According to Reeves, the lab boys couldn't identify the substance. Convinced that he was right, Reeves ended up building a spacecraft model in his front yard, and he had these words to say to the non-believers:

"I don't care what people say, it's all true. I've traveled aboard one of these spacecrafts, cruising 85,000 mph. The biggest ship they have is 2,000 feet across and 500 feet high. I was on Moniheya 24 hours. The people were only three feet tall in one place, but there were others who were eight and nine feet tall. They're here with us now. They can talk any language on this planet, so we got them right here with us, but don't know who they are."
