HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOLAN!!!
Yes, as we are all well aware, this is the birthday week for our very own Pop Culture Review homeboy, Nolan B. Canova. This being the case, I would be worse than remiss if I didn't pay him proper homage by leading my Rail with a tribute to the BIG N.

Having known the Nolanmeister as long as I have, there is a special aura that evolves every year at this time. As the years have passed and brought us to this 47th Year of Canova, we are reminded that time does not stand still. The concept of Nolan being 47 is almost......ALMOST...as unbelievable and chronic as Mike and me being in our 40's. It is in this misery of friends that you, Nolan, can find comfort.

It's an awesome thing when one can reach the point in life when the most important aspect of your day is keeping your shorts dry. That and continued rectal control.

On the serious side, birthdays in general give us all an opportunity every year to let those close to us know just how important to us they really are. Especially someone like you, Nolan.

Someone like you, whose kindness, sincerity, forgiveness, compassion, and Friendship may be equalled, but certainly never surpassed.

Happy Birthday, Nolan. You Da Man!

(Thank you, my friend. Your check is in the mail.---Nolan)

GO BUCS
Given the fact that the base of this E-Zine is stationed in Tampa, I must mention that the Bucco's looked pretty impressive in their preseason opening victory over the Miami Dolphins.

Sure, the score was low, and there were plenty of missed opportunitys, but you have to look at the positives. And that is, that there were opportunities! The playcalling was much more than the usual 1 yard and a cloud of dust mentality.

You may recall that I totally applauded the Glazer's on the hiring of Gruden, and giving the Raiders their Number 1 draft pick to sign him. After what I saw Monday night, I have no reservations against saying that the Bucs will do some very good things.

How good? I'll say that Bucs will finish the season, at the very least, 11-5. For you of the anti-sport ilk, that means 11 wins and 5 losses. I'd be interested in Mr. Smith's prediction!!

Go Bucs!

(I was watching that game at my brother's house when the opening kickoff was run 95 yards back for a touchdown by the Bucs! Talk about a strong start! I never talk sports, so that shows how it impressed me...---N)

FROM THE "YOU MUST BE SMOKING CRACK" DEPARTMENT
You reach a point as an adult where you feel pretty certain that you've experienced, witnessed, or at least heard most everything you'd call or consider completely stupid and moronic. I though I had heard it all...until today.

Did you know that, for a hefty price, you can have a television set installed in your car? Not only in your car but in the front seat! Not only in the front seat but in front of the driver of the vehicle.

Not only in front of the driver, but in the FREAKIN' STEERING WHEEL!!!!!!!!

I can't begin to tell you the comfort I will now have traversing the highways, knowing that some idiot could be watching the Today show as he heads my direction on the highway....at speeds in excess of 60 mph.

As if this isn't moronic enough, I'll raise the bar of stupidity a little higher for you.......

It's completely LEGAL! Yes, drivers, that means it's not illegal. Which means you have no recourse other than to hope it's a commercial when they pass you on the road.

And I thought using a Cell phone while driving was stupid! Live and learn.......and hope to live I guess.
(Wait till they issue 3D-goggles for enhancing your DVD viewing pleasure----while driving!--Nolan)

Till next time take care and God Bless,
Matt
