Finally, after two long years, my article about the Misfits and Danzig is here. Read on after and see my review of the independent film, "The Raging Bells."
THE MISFITS One band member actually left the band over a McDonald's hamburger, (guess he was tired of feeling like a piece of meat). He wanted two burgers and Glenn said it was one per person, so he walked out of the restaurant [allegedly] and never came back to the band.
After years of no money, crappy sound, and minimal success the band dispersed in 1983 due to "irreconcilable differences" and that’s a nice way of putting it. Depending on who you ask your answer varies immensely. Jerry was a pansy, rich boy, and had no future in it, and too busy with family, according to Glenn. Glenn wanted to be satanic and had different views on the future of the band but there were never any arguments nor hatred on either side, according to Jerry and his brother Doyle. Regardless of who is right and wrong the fact remains, THEY WILL NEVER PLAY TOGETHER AGAIN!!!!!!!!! People say all the time, "Glenn is gonna do a couple shows with them soon." Not going to happen! For all of you who believe this, you need to get your head out of your gluteus maximus and see what is really going on.
Where are they now? The Misfits -- The current line-up is not "The Misfits" it's Jerry’s all-star band! It consists of Dez Cadena from Black Flag, and Marky Ramone from the Ramone’s. Personally, I think that Jerry should just hang it up and start something new, like growing back his hair. Horrible Joke. I couldn’t resist. I have met Jerry many times and he has always been very nice. Danzig -- Glenn recently had a change in members so currently its just him and a couple temporary guys from various bands like; Prong and Type O Negative. He is also headlining his creation, the "Blackest of Black" tour which promotes the darkest and heaviest bands out there. There are only two shows lined up so far but more are soon to come I’m sure. I met Glenn last summer and I am glad to report that he is a very nice guy and easy to talk to.
THE RAGING BELLS (Independent movie exhibited at the Tambay Film Fest) The movie was not total junk. It was obvious to me that a lot of hard work went into the low-budget project. It was okay. I refuse to rant and rave about this movie because I know that it is very hard for independent filmmakers to get a break. This being said I will leave it at that.

Glenn Danzig originated a future legendary punk band in a town called Lodi in the late 1970’s with the help of a younger punk, Jerry Only. The band had a rough beginning, with the changing around of various band members and lack of funds. By the time 1980 rolled around the guys had recorded a couple singles and played frequently around the east coast in small dives. Money was scarce and the morale was incredibly low at the time. Jerry’s dad funded most of the bands "tours" or at least his credit card did.
Raging Bells. Raging Crap may be more like it. The movie was a swell attempt at movie-making, but seriously fell short at the starting line. The movie debuted Monday (4-28-03) at the Tambay Film Festival at Channelside theaters. 43 people put there names to this flick and 1 in particular believes it may be his real "breakthrough." I doubt it. Personally, I was shocked to hear this comment because I thought he was one of the worst actors in the movie. I am not trying to put him down but he honestly doesn’t have what it takes. You can’t teach someone to be an actor, argue it if you will. You either are an actor or you aren’t. Acting classes can bring out the talent in someone or help fine tune one that’s already blossoming. That’s it.
