Creature's Corner

Hello Everyone:
I'll tell you what, it's never a dull moment around the "Castle" so I siezed the opportunity to send the denizens for a stroll through the moors at midnight so I could have some peace to collect my thoughts and relate them to you.

Kingdom of Heaven
First up is the "Kingdom of Heaven." The movie was number one at the American box office taking in twenty million on it's first weekend. The movie stars Orlando Bloom, Liam Neeson, Jeremy Irons, and Eva Green as the lovely Sibylla. This one was good people though I've heard that many don't like it. I say balderdash!!!! This movie was fun and was fairly evenly paced with both action and drama. Ridley Scott did a good job at grabbing the audiences attention by introducing new elements into each battle scene. The acting was very good but there were a few spots in the script that kind of lost the audience momentarily. The special effects were good and were used with great attention to detail. Last but not least I have to tell you the siege machines were awesome.

The story in "Kingdom of Heaven" is loosely based on the Crusades that took place involving the holy city of Jerusalem. It's accuracy is questionable but who cares?!?!?! It's a great movie that is fun to watch. I give this one a full "Three Screams" on the Creature Scale. Go check this one out.

Rann-Thanagar War
Next up; It's here!!!!!!! Yes, Virginia, The "Rann-Thanagar War" has begun and DC comics is presenting us the story. I've been chomping at the bit for a couplre months waiting for this one as Adam Strange and Hawkman are two of my fasvorite aliens. The cover grabbed me right away showing Hawkman, Green Lantern, and Adam Strange in attack mode against an unseen enemy. The interior art is action packed as well and looks good. The six issue mini-series (which is part of Infiniite Crisis) is brought to us by writer Dave Gibbons, artist Ivan Reis (his stuff looks real nice), Inker Marc Campos, colorist John Kalisz, letterer Nick J, Napolitano, and editor Stephen Wacker. Action packed from one end to the other this one is not to be missed so you better run out there and get a copy before they're all gone. This one gets "Four Screams" on the "Creature Scale."

Lastly, I hope you were all able to get out and support free comic book day. I know I did. I was able to snag about five of the offerings from several copanies including a real nice one from Dark Horse Comics. It's a Star Wars story that takes place four month before the events in "Revenge Of The Sith."

I hope everybody out there has a Great Weekend!!! Don't forget that Star Wars is coming out next week. Maybe I'll see some of you at the movies. C-Ya!!!
