OSCAR TIME
Please take the time and enter this year's Oscar challenge. I'm so tired of kicking Matt and Nolan's asses each year! Remember, cool prizes if you beat me!

B.I.T.
The above stands for Bum In Training. The other day I had to go to the post office across from my building in downtown Kansas City. The post office is right next to the food court in the building, and as I walked in I noticed an elderly man and two younger men panhandling outside on the sidewalk. When I finished my errand, the three were now in front of the McDonalds and I overheard the older man say, "Now, if you need to, don't be afraid to get something to eat. A lot of people can't drink all day on an empty stomach, so if you want to get a sandwich there's no shame." After thinking about it, one of the younger men went in and ordered a sandwich. Nice to know he has a mentor to look out for him.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
ABC has announced that they will be keeping an eye on the commercials that run during this Sunday's Academy Award show. Apparently they want to make sure that the show remains family friendly. The network is also considering using a lengthy delay in case something it doesn't agree with is said during the show. Wow! Can you say censorship? So if Richard Gere wants to go on about the Dali Llama or if Tim Robbins celebrates his win by calling for an end to the war in Iraq.........oops, I forgot, the war is over and we won............does that mean they will be cut off the air? Good think Michael Moore gave his speech last year!

MOVIE NEWS
Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman have joined the cast of Christopher Nolan's "Batman - Intimidation." Neeson will play the evil Ra's Al Ghul, while Freeman takes the role of Lucius Fox, CEO of Wayne Enterprises. Also in the running for a major part, Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe.

MEET THE BEATLES - Part 6
February 25, 1969 George Harrison celebrates his 26th birthday by spending the day at EMI studios. With only Ken Scott producing in the control room, Harrison recorded vocal, guitar and piano demos of his newest compositions: "Old Brown Shoe," "Something" and "All Things Must Pass." The recordings were mixed and acetate discs cut.

Well, that's all for now. Have a great week. See ya!
