Creature's Corner

Hey Gang:
Wow!!!! It sure has been long time since I've written for the Boss (last June). I'm not even sure where to begin so I'll just jump in. Computer problems and an extremely heavy work schedule have worked in tandem to keep me very busy. All is better now because Ozzy's "Bark At The Moon" is playing. Things at the "Castle" have been getting busier all the time and (place trumpet sound here)...we've added a whole new wing. Talk about a job-and-a-half!!! That was some work. To go with the new wing (hereby dubbed the C&C wing) we've added a few new subjects to the realm like Boris and his gang of misfit Lizard dudes and that mightiest of soothsayers... (well, I don't know about mighty...but it sounded good) Kendroby. So along with the usual gang of misfits; Doc, Gorbly, Prof, Ting-Ting, Zero, and the rest, the newbies will now share in this piece of real estate that is my life. Welcome aboard, gang.

"WHEN IT RAINS...IT POURS"
Okay. Now I'm going to let you all in on a carefully guarded secret. A few miles south of me lies the land dubbed "Largo." Recently it has become the site of a possible invasion. I know, I Know... it sounds like more lunacy from the depths of the "Creature's" mind but I'm telling you I've seen it with mine own eyes. When the first wave came in nobody really paid attention (well, nobody but me anyway) so I went in for a closer look. Two days later the second wave hit over on the other side of town. I became more concerned as now there were three fronts to deal with. I know, I only mentioned two waves. Just be patient. I'm getting around to number three.

Two weeks after the second wave hit a third and, hopefully, final wave landed across the street from the first wave. The INVASION was now complete and the small sleepy city of Largo will never be the same. We're talking comic book stores people...real life comic stores...and all in the city of LARGO. First there is "Comic World" on East Bay Drive, a store that has moved various times but always on East Bay. They are the oldest pure comic store in Pinellas County (though not the oldest comic selling store. That distinction would have to go to "Wilson's Bookstore" in St. Pete.)

The second store to open was in the last week of April and the store is called "Comic Empire." It's a husband and wife team that runs the entire empire.

The third store to appear (two days after the second one) was that giant from the other side of the pond..."Demolition Comics."

Just when the small city of Largo thought it was over, a fourth store appeared out of the ether. One month after the others "Comics And Critters Too" appeared to make it four (count 'em, F-O-U-R --oops-- 1-2-3-4 ...that's more like it) comic stores in Largo, three of them opening within a month of each other. Comic buyers (and gamers to) will have plenty of places to go in order to feed their need. I'll bet Pat at "Comic World" never thought he'd wake up to see three other stores pop up around him.

Like I said..."When it rains, it pours!!!"

That was lots of fun. Have a great week everyone. C-Ya!!!
