Roger Clemens’ “Cheatin’ Heart”
In case you’ve been under a rock somewhere and haven’t heard, country singer Mindy McCready recently told the New York Daily News that she’s been having an affair with Clemens for over ten years, starting when she was just 15. Clemens who was married during the timeline given by McCready, denounces the claims and says that the New York Daily News is committing a smear campaign against him, because they are pushing Clemens’ steroid scandal harder than most media outlets. This situation for Clemens is just one of many obstacles he’s faced since filing a lawsuit against Brian McNamee, his former trainer who claims to have supplied Clemens with steroids. If McCready’s claims are true and proven, Clemens’ once Hall Of Fame career that’s been shrouded and erased by this steroid case will be disgraceful. He won't be just a steroid freak and a cheater/liar, he will be a statutory rapist who got away with it.

Rays Miss Out
This past Tuesday night in Baltimore, the Rays had the chance to take first place in the AL East. The Rays who where on a surprising six game win streak lost to the Baltimore Orioles 7-4, giving Baltimore and Boston a tie for first.

Bucs Blow Draft
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had the 20th Pick on the 08 NFL Draft this past weekend. They had the chance to get the best defensive back in the draft, hometown hero Mike Jenkins from the University of South Florida, but they chose to spend their first round pick on maybe the third best DB in the draft, Aquib Talib from Kansas. Passing on other big names in the draft that you will hear soon on Sunday, the Bucs also haven’t tried to aquire any big name free agents out there. Superstar Wide Receiver Chad Johnson has said that he wants to go to Tampa, but there haven’t been any talks between the Bengals and Bucs about the trade. Maybe the Bucs can get it together as there are five months until kickoff, but it’s not looking good with Jeff Garcia wanting more money, Michael Clayton under-achieving, and little to no offensive playmakers.

War on I-4
The classic games of the Tampa Bay Storm and The Orlando Predators lives up to the hype this past weekend. The Storm defeated the Predators 48-41 in a nail biter and ended their 5-game losing streak, ended the Orlando Predators 6-game win streak, and also ended a four game losing streak to the Predators. Just goes to show you every thing is better when you win.

Long Time
Analyst for the NFL on Fox pregame show, and former Oakland Raiders great Howie Long accompanied his son Chris Long to the NFL Draft as Chris was the 2nd overall pick in the 08 Draft, drafted by the St. Louis Rams. Chris Long is a standout football player from the University of Virginia, and impressed many NFL coaches and scouts at the NFL Rookie Combine. Long will play on the defensive line for the Rams, and is sure to be a terror for opposing quarterbacks.

Can’t get NFL Network?
Complain, complain, complain. That’s basically all you can do if you have cable television. I myself have DirecTv so I don’t have that problem, but that’s not the point. The general consensus among cable television execs is that their customers don’t need another sports channel because of the ESPN package that includes 4+ channels. But NFL Network shows pre-season games from other cities than your own, classic games, mini-camps, programming that’s not shown on ESPN and the channels that broadcast NFL games. Football fans need this channel, even more when the football fan pays for channels like Lifetime, Lifetime Movies, HGTV, Oxygen, Soap Network, WE, the list goes on. So keep complaining fans, you might win someday.
