2004

As of April 1, 2004, this section which formerly housed the Florida Filmmakers Update, was discontinued in favor of the more immediate message board format. Please check there for any and all information regarding up-to-date listings of any indie film action, local or otherwise. Listed below are all previous updates, which are being kept indefinitely for legacy purposes.


March, 2004. This month: The TOO Productions March Coffeehouse meeting (with pictures). Exhibited: Night Demons, Entering Wendy, Sunshinola.

February, 2004. The TOO Productions February Film Meeting covered (with pictures), "A Joyce Story", three films from ICON Film Studios, and Joe DiCanio's "Hunted" trailer exhibited. In other news, Steve "Uncle Creepy" Barton announces the IFF: Independent Florida Filmmakers meetings taking place at the 1515 Coffeehouse; this is aimed at networking opportunities. January, 2004. Casting calls for Enigma Films' "All Hallows Eve"; Too Productions looking for 80+ year-old male actor for their new movie. ROMEO COFFEEHOUSE FILM SERIES covered here for the first time---with pictures! Aaron Mighty weighs in with a "One Happy Movie" update. "Indie Slate Magazine" sends a head's up as to what kind of listings they're looking for. Eyeful Films alerts us to their presence and offers a link exchange. The Melbourne Independent Film Festival wishes everyone a Happy New Year. And for those who missed it in the PCR, the winners of the December 2003 Renegade Film Festival.

11-6-03 and 11-20-03. Renegade Update. "Filthy" watch update.

11-6-03. "Filthy" watch. "One Happy Movie" premiere. Renegade 4 nearing.

10-1-03 and 10-9-03. Halloween Horror Picture Show. "Filthy" watch update. QiGong Workout DVD. Saints & Sinners IV Announcement. M.I.F.F. Winners. First "FILTHY" watch.

9-2-03 and 9-18-03. Jason Liquori's "Underworld". Education Channel series to film in Tampa. "Pledge" DVD update. "Filthy" DVD update.

8-11-03. Bay News 9 spotlights local filmmakers. MIFF Global Film Festival. "The Nightmare Collection" DVD available. "The Pledge" DVD available. Crystal Reel Awards info. Indy October Film Fest postponed. "Filthy" on THE SPOT (Tampa area only).

7-02-03 and 6-27-03. "Saints & Sinners IV" Film Festival date confirmed for December, 2003. ICON Film Studios announces intention of staging an independent all-horror film festival for October, 2003.

6-19-03. "Filthy" wins 5 Crystal Reel Awards. Renegade announces there are still "Saints & Sinners III" T-shirts left for any interested parties.

6-4-03. The Renegade Film Festival, Saints & Sinners III WINNERS!

5-12-03. Renegade Film Festival "Saints & Sinners III" Final Update before event; Andy Lalino's horror movie "Filthy" will premiere there as well as Renegade's own Danford/Savini film "Web of Darkness". LUFF Film Fest in Switzerland seeking entries.

5-3-03. The Tambay Film Festival WINNERS!.

4-22-03. The Tambay Film Fest opens. Renegade Film Fest III acquires new sponsores.

4-9-03. The Tambay Film Fest newsletter for early April. An inspirational message from Sheri Lawrence.

4-3-03 and 3-27-03. Two back-to-back updates on the Renegade Film Festival III.

3-18-03. Andy Lalino on Necro Nancy.  Renegade: Saints & Sinners III announcements. The Tambay Film Festival March Newsletter. Yo Soy Irini Productions' St. Patrick's Day party.

3-5-03. Rick Danford sends an update on the next Renegade Film Festival (number 3), now scheduled toward the end of May, 2003.

2-21-03. Jason Liquori's video short "008:THE JOB IS NOT ENOUGH" is released online. Sheri "FERMIE" Lawrence updates her "Filthy" site. Rick Danford updates his Enigma Films project. The "Bennigan's Gang" meet to discuss "The Urn"---pics included of meeting include Rick Danford, Nolan Canova, Brandon Jones, Robyn Griggs, and Jeania Ingle.

2-12-03. Rick Danford announces Enigma Films and "The Nightmare Collection" DVD project.

2-5-03. Jason Liquori wins award for "Hit & Miss". Clips Productions' "The Urn" in production. Yo Soy Irini Productions' staff reorganized. The Tambay Film Festival announces film line-up and date changes.
