The Horror Channel
As most horrorheads know, the moment we've all been waiting for is coming for you this fall; October to be exact. Yes, it's the tantalizing debut of the long-awaited HORROR CHANNEL; a twilight zone we can finally call our own. THC is shaping up to be very fan-friendly, and from all accounts they really listen to what the fans have to say. Steve "UNCLE CREEPY" Barton, our resident horror demigod, serves as THC's Web Forum Moderator and Fan-Relations Manager. Steve is tuned-in to the scene like no one else, perpetually monitoring the Horror Channel.com and Fangoria.com message boards for late-breaking fan reactions and horror news. I myself haunt both boards on an everyday basis, so if you're looking for a great way to communicate with other fans, I strongly suggest you log on the Horror Channel and Fangoria.com's message boards, along with the Crazed Fanboy boards, of course! Those are my three faves.
If you check out The Horror Channel's official site, you'll note that the management team is comprised of cable TV industry professionals, headed up by Nick Psaltos (CEO), Christopher Apostle (Chief Marketing Officer), and John Giunti (Chief Information Officer and Launch Operations Manager) and an advisory board that has to be seen to be believed: John Carpenter, Wes Craven, Anthony Timpone Don Coscarelli, a beardless Guillermo del Toro, Mick Garris, Roger Corman, Tobe Hooper, Stuart Gordon, Lloyd Kaufman, Lucky McKee, Joe Wolf, Tom Savini, Alfredo Leone, Robert Parigi, George A. Romero, Eli Roth, and Rob Zombie! How's that for good advice?
The Horror Channel wants input from the fans, so be sure to check out their official site and put in your two cents. Let's all get together and make this venture a rousing success!!!
FILTHY Update I also have more good news on the "Filthy" front: LOCATION: For more info, log on to the Official FILTHY website: http://www.filthythemovie.com
-- closer to reality!
From discussing The Horror Channel at various I.F.F. meetings, Steve informed fans that it is the channel's goal to broadcast unedited horror films after the 10pm time slot. As he explained it, daytime programming would be rated G-PG (no doubt TV show episodes would be appropriate here), followed by PG-13 prime-time programming, and finally unedited films at the 10pm hour. Sounds like heaven! Can you imagine turning on TV and seeing "Beyond the Darkness" or "Gates of Hell" totally uncut on television?!? Somebody pinch me!
The Tale of 2 Uncle Creepys! Which one is Steve Barton?
For those of you who have never heard of Filthy, it is a short horror film I co-produced/directed and wrote, which to date has won 22 film festival awards and has been chosen as Official Selections in 15 festivals. We shot "Filthy" back in the spring of 2002 (about this time of year), and now we're finally close to releasing the professionally replicated DVD. The DVD master has been sent to our duplication house, and we should be getting copies in within 2 weeks, depending if the master they send us is error-free.
FILTHY has been chosen as an OFFICIAL SELECTION of the BROUHAHA FILM AND VIDEO SHOWCASE in Maitland, Florida! The Brouhaha Film & Video Showcase will be held at the beautiful ENZIAN THEATER - the premier theater for independent/horror films in Florida.
