OKLAHOMA IS O.K.
Just got back from a weekend trip to the campus of the University of Oklahoma, where myself and 84,000 other fans saw OU spank the Cyclones of Iowa State, 52-0. Our nephew is on the training staff at Iowa State and, since I have a friend at work who is a HUGE OU fan, got us some tickets to attend. Not really having an emotional investment in the game (I don't root for either team normally) I was able to enjoy a beautiful night in the stands with my wife. The weather was perfect and the football, at least for the team in red and white, was well played!
ONE OFF THE BUCKET LIST
As a longtime purveyor of tasty hamburgers I had heard plenty about the Whataburger! variety. This weekend I came upon one on my trip and sampled a Double Burger. Delicious! Freshly made, perfectly grilled, just the right taste of meat and grease and very fresh toppings. Certainly top three in my book.
ANOTHER GREAT TRIBUTE
Readers may remember my great adventure to Omaha in May for a special benefit screening of "JAWS." If so, there is another one coming up but before I give the particulars I am checking on an aspect of the event. If I find out before Nolan clears the site this coming week I'll note everything here later. I will also re-publish the news in next week's Rant as well.
