"THE WORLD OF NOLAN" "50 Years of Psycho" PART ONE: 15min 15 sec.
Host: Nolan B. Canova Guests: Chris Woods and Terence Nuzum
In this first episode of The World of Nolan taped in many years, Ye Olde Editor and colleagues Chris Woods and Terence Nuzum discuss the 50th anniversary of the classic Alfred Hitchcock film Psycho, its sequels and its legacy.
TECH TALK: We tried a different technique for taping this episode that was mostly successful. A one-camera shoot, we attempted to simulate the look of a multi-camera set-up by selectively zooming in where appropriate. While this generally worked, it gave a "soft" look to the close-ups and obviously left other minor artifacts, some noisier than others, but it was worth a shot. No need to write me about occasional glitches, I'm aware of them. Nevertheless, I am quite excited by the potential and we are doing research on fine-tuning this process.
Next week's episode is the conclusion of our roundtable discussion on Psycho.
