"Beware" is a fun slasher flick in the tradition of "A Nightmare on Elm Street", the "Evil Dead" and the "Halloween" series. It starts out in a wooded thicket along the Flagler coast of Florida. A hunter dressed in camo is out hunting wabbits and stumbles upon an old sign that has hand-lettered painting urging the traveler to "Beware"! Soon the hunter becomes the hunted.

We switch gears and cut scenes to the 'burbs where Chase (Jared Depasquale) and Tim (Jason Daly) prep for an extended weekend at Chase's aunt's house out in the middle of nowhere in a small town called Shady Grove. They bring with them two women folk, Raina (Raina Lake) and Diana (Luciana DePasquale). Once at the guesthouse, they will meet up with Raina's on and off boyfriend Rick (played by "Scary Tales" actor Philip DeJesus) and Steve (Steve Bucherie).

We switch gears again as we watch two punks barrel through the same woods where the camo dude was. The passenger punk swears that their car hit a monster that kept walking away after impact. The po-lice nab the two dudes for speeding, but basically let them off with a warning to slow down. As the two resume their joyride, the officer (Earl the pearl) then recollects the legends of the violent deaths that have plagued these woods for many--we cut to a scene in the po-lice station where the chief looks at an old news clipping of "Hunter Missing in Woods"---hmmmmmm.

Meanwhile back at the Aunt's:

Our fearless foursome arrives and unpacks and is later met by Rick and Steve. Chase decides that this would be the perfect opportunity to tell a ghost story by the old campfire. The six huddle together to hear the "Legend of Jane Wilson".

It seems that many years back, Hank Wilson found out that one of his two sons was not his own--that his wife done been runnin' around on 'im. To punish her for her unfaithfulness, he first beats her to a pulp, and then kidnaps the illegitimate young boy. He beats him to a pulp and ties him to a tree in the middle of nowhere close enough for the mother to hear the child's screams of agony--on a daily basis--for years!

The poor illegitimate victim's younger brother tries to come to aid by bringing him food, only to be beaten by ol' Hank. Then one day the unthinkable happens--the now teenaged boy named Shane breaks the chains and kills ol' Hank. Shane still resides in the woods outside of redneck Podunk Shady Grove. But there is a warning to the unsuspecting wayfarer--a hand-lettered sign hanging over his den that says "Beware".

Legend of the monster-man, Shane, grows and grows, so three local yahoos take it upon themselves to find out if the legend is real--they found out and get a lot more than they bargained for! But is Shane just a local legend or lurking somewhere in the woods nearby waiting to vent his rage and the next poor soul unlucky enough to cross paths with him?

One by one our six heroes--er, victims will find out--and so will you if you have the good fortune to get a hold of "Beware". So get your favorite boyfriend or girlfriend, pop up some popcorn and batten down the hatches for this good effort by Daly and DePasquale. Also involved in this film's production is Florida east coast producer Michael A. Hoffman of "Scary Tales" and "Dirty Cop No Donut" fame. And Jason Daly will star as "Don Liefert" in the upcoming "Scary Tales 2-- the Return of Mr. longfellow"

Enjoy, but Beware!
