![]() ![]() The first of a "2-parter" filmmaker special focused on Tampa-area actors/producers Mark A. Nash, Emily Page, Gustavo Perez, and Kevin Bangos.
Each filmmaker told his/her story of how they came to this area and came to know each other.
| |
Highlights include: extended clips of "The Raging Bells" and "Scary Tales". An animated discussion of individual experiences, reactions to the area and how they all met. Some interesting phone calls (one focusing on family support issues) were taken. Discussion continued on Mark's technical approach to "Bells" (captured on "Digital Hi-8" tape, edited in a regular linear fashion, but computer-aided editing considered for future projects) and full-size poster (seen in background of set. A friend comped and digitized the images and the poster was printed at a sign shop).
All spoke of movies they liked. Amusingly, Emily doesn't like scary movies, even though she acts in them--she preferes "movies that make you think". Gus spoke of action-thrillers from the 40s and 50s. Then related a story of how he himself was cast as an extra in "Ocean's 11" (the asst director found Gus nearby the set and told him to "come with me").
Our musical guest, once again, was Mr. George Draper. George played an original song and an old McCartney tune, similar in tone to last week's performance. | |
