Number three in a row. Armageddon cannot be far behind.

Creature's Corner

Hey Gang, What's up? This is the third installment in a row and the pressure is on. I actually thought I would have to skip a week because activity in and around the "Castle" has been very intense of late, but those who lurk within have helped save the day. It's not like there hasn't been much to talk about, it's just that things have been running at a fever pitch around here. Whew!! Now I can take a five minute break and fill you in with a bit of news from inside the walls.

First off, did anybody manage to snag a copy of "The Many Worlds Of Tesla Strong" last week. I snagged my copy last Wednesday and read it over the weekend. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, Tesla Strong is the daughter of Tom Strong, a multi-faceted hero that resides with America's Finest Comics. Tom Strong is an ultra-rich action hero that has done almost everything. The comic is the creation of Alan Moore, who is a highly regarded writer in the comics industry whose credits are too numerous to mention. You may remember him as the writer of "From Hell," the graphic novel about Jack The Ripper that became a major motion picture starring Johnny Depp and Heather Graham. Anyway, Tom Strong and his family are products from the same fertile imagination. Tom Strong kind of reminds me of a modern day Doc Savage with colorful stories full of action and high-tech gadgetry. The cast includes Tom, his wife Dahlua, daughter Tesla, a highly intelligent British speaking Gorilla named King Solomon, and a robot butler named Neuman.

In this book, King Solomon is riding one of the Strongs anti-grav "searchboards." A dimensional gate opens before him and the board (with Solomon) slips through the hole. The board promptly returns, sans King Solomon. With the destination log wiped clean, Tesla decides to take off in search of Solomon. The search takes her through several alternate worlds where other versions of Tesla and her family reside. Similar things have happened in these "alternate worlds" and so the mystery begins.

The story was written by Peter Hogan with plot assistance from Alan Moore. Several artists added their talents to this 'king-size" adventure including; Chris Sprouse, Karl Story, Adam Hughes, Arthur Adams, J. Scott Campbell, Frank Cho, and others. The story was good and some of the worlds were interesting. I thought the story was interesting and quite entertaining as well.

On a more somber note I was surprised to hear about the passing of actor Robert Stack last Wednesday. Who could forget him in such things as "The Untouchables", The 1980 movie, "Airplane", and most recently as the host of "Unsolved Mysteries." He was a veteran of more than forty movies and several television series. He was 84 years old.

Shifting gears again, The residents of the castle and I were on hand to witness Ashley Lauren as she accepted her diploma during graduation ceremonies at Clearwater High School last night (Tuesday). Yep, I admit it, I was a proud poppa. At first I wondered whether the ceremony was going to happen as rain crashed down on the high school around 5:00pm. Luckily it stopped by 7:30pm and the ceremony was conducted as scheduled. After it was over the school sound system blasted the new Disturbed album. It was music for metal ears. I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally, I guess it's time to let the cat out of the bag. On Monday we started princopal photography on a short movie I wrote and am directing called "Permanent Job." It's part of a long-term project that started about the time I stopped writing for PCR. I'll fill you in during the coming weeks with photos as well.

Will I survive the scathing reviews from Ashley Lauren? Stay Tuned. Have a good week everybody! C-Ya.
