LAST WEEK
As I mentioned last week, word of the passings of Deborah Kerr and Joey Bishop had just broke when I put the rant to bed. That being said, I would be remiss if I didn't mention them here with some detail.
A six time Oscar nominee, Kerr was the Meryl Streep of her time, easily moving from film to film with great believability. Whether she was rolling in the surf with Burt Lancaster in one of the screen's most indelible images or teaching the children of the King of Siam, she made each of roles distinctly hers.
Bishop was the last living member of the now infamous Rat Pack, which was led by Frank Sinatra. A quiet commedian, Bishop starred in his own sit com as well his own talk show. Bishop appeared with Sinatra in such films as "Ocean's Eleven" and "Robin and the Seven Hoods."
THE GANG'S ALL HERE
Finally, here is the main cast of the upcoming "Star Trek" prequel:
KIRK: CHRIS PINE
SPOCK: ZACHARY QUINTO
McCOY: KARL URBAN
UHURA: ZOE SALDANA
SULU: JOHN CHO
CHEKOV: ANTON YELCHIN
SCOTTY: SIMON PEGG
AND?
"Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowlings dropped a bombshell this week when she announced that Head Master Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore was gay. Clue #1 for me? His name is Albus Percival Wulfric Brian.
WHERE'S THE TREAT?
Sad to announce the passing of Vincent DeDomenico, one of the cofouders of "Rice a Roni." Mr. Vincent's remains can currently be seen going up and down Lombard street in a little cable car.
WHATEVER HAPPENED TO...? CHAPTER 31: CHARLES DURNING - NEXT WEEK!
Well, that's all for now. Have a great week. See ya!
