The Purple Velvet Parade are:
Ryan Iova: Guitar and lead vocals
Kendra Morris: Lead vocals
Howard Shirley: Upright Bass
Christian Davis: "Lead" mandolin
Animal: Drums
While TWON has featured many live musical acts, this is the first and only episode to feature a band who performed live for the majority of the program. A discovery of guest host David Andrews (normally TWON's tech-director), The Purple Velvet Parade first appeared in two segments on our "cannabis legalization" show. Their music could be described as Rastafarian meets hip-hop meets folk/pop (their previous appearance featured two rappers who were not present for this program). The band was well-received then and now. Any interviews were very brief and took place in short segments between "sets". Phone calls taken towards the end of the show were extremely enthusiastic and supportive.

This was the final episode of the season. Next season, I will be helping friend Dave Andrews with his new show called "What's It All About?" I understand that that show will be focusing even more on local music acts. For any of the "old gang" who may be wondering: yes, I will continue resisting the temptation to get my guitar out of mothballs and crashing the set, so stop asking.
However, someday, some way, when you least expect it, a very familiar-sounding power-chord combination will leap out of the TV speakers, signaling my return---is it my pre-recorded theme song? Or am I standing there actually jamming live? Time will tell...
