The TRUTH organization is probably familiar to frequent TV-watchers as the group featured on public service announcements who "ambush" tobacco company execs into confessing their sparse or ambivalent knowledge of their own product on national TV. When the young people of TRUTH confront these execs on camera or telephone with evidence of studies proving the dangers of
tobacco and subsequent cover-ups by the industry, the execs' usual reaction is to avoid the camera, hang-up on them, and/or casually dismiss them.
Jacob Baime, tonight's guest, is affiliated with the TRUTH organization at Leto High School, specifically SWAT, or Students Working Against Tobacco. Jacob and Amber went over a lot of information and had a good discussion about the dangers of smoking and the dark practices of the tobacco industry.
